My Journey as a trailblazer

If you’re a woman in medical device sales aiming for leadership, you know that trailblazing isn’t optional—it’s essential. 

Here's how it all began...

  • Launched my career as a Clinical Specialist
  • Quickly shifted into a sales rep role
    • Grew my territory from $500,000 to $6.5M in four years
    • Earned four President’s Club awards
    • Finished as Rep of the Year

Stepping into Leadership

With numerous awards under my belt, my career was on a meteoric rise.

So why walk away from sales?

Here's the thing: I had been vocal about the need for more women in leadership, calling out the fact that of 30 Sales Directors, only 3 were women—just 10%. When an opportunity arose, I knew I had to be part of the solution.

In the Regional Director role, I:

  • Managed a $25 million portfolio and a team of 23 sales reps and clinical specialists
  • Built a diverse, dynamic and award-winning team (Hello, back to back President’s Clubs!) with 50/50 gender equity

Here’s how I made an impact:

  • Launched the first-ever Development Series for women in the organization during the COVID-shutdown
  • Co-founded the company’s mentorship program for women
  • Acted as an ally and mentor in BOOST, the mentorship program for Black Americans looking to break into medical device sales

Making big moves: Fortune 500 to Start-Up

At the peak of my corporate career, I made a bold move into a start-up. 

Why? To build something from the ground up where:

  • Revenue success, patient impact, and equitable career opportunities thrive together

Here’s what I accomplished:

  • Commercialized the company and its product
  • Advocated for a 300% increase in parental leave benefits
  • Built a diverse, dynamic team that disrupted the interventional pain market

Why I Coach

It all comes down to this:

Helping others grow their careers is what I love most.

That’s why I transitioned into full-time coaching.

Now, I help women in medical device sales:

The Real Talk

Let’s be real—this journey hasn’t been without its challenges. I’ve had some *serious* setbacks:

  • Like the quarter I was only 18% to plan (Yes, that really happened! And I’ll tell you ALL about it…)
  • Having to navigate critiques on how I dress, act, and show up in a room, despite being completely in line with my male peers.
    • Imagine what they’d have said if I wasn’t performing?

My Hope for the Future

My hope is that one day, trailblazers like us won’t be necessary because

  • We will ALL have equal support, resources, and opportunities
